Business Ambition for 1.5º C

Aware of the urgent need to combat climate change, Efacec joined the United Nations Business Ambition for 1.5ºC movement in 2019, committing to establish Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction targets to limit global warming to 1.5ºC.

Joining forces to limit global warming and to promote the transition to a low-carbon economy are central objectives of this initiative.

Efacec has set emissions reduction targets and they have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative – an international reference that defines and promotes best practices in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ targets.

The SBTi is a collaboration between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), the We Mean Business Coalition and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Short and long-term targets
(from the base year of 2019)

    50% until 2030*
  • Increase annual active sourcing of renewable electricity from 0% to
    100% until 2030
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions**
    55% until 2033
  • In the long-term, reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions
    90% until 2045

Our Action Plan includes several initiatives:

  • Electrifying operations

The transition to a low-carbon economy is part of our strategy and reinforces our goal of contributing to a more sustainable future.
