Efacec has signed two important contracts with Galp as part of its 100MW green hydrogen project in Sines, of major importance in the process of decarbonising the industry and the ongoing adoption of renewable energy sources, which will significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

In addition to supplying two 160MVA power transformers, Efacec will also be responsible for the design, construction and delivery of other equipment for a 150kV AIS (Air Insulated Substation) substation and corresponding interconnections.

The substation will supply electricity to the new green hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 100MW of electrolysis, in a project that is already under construction.

For Ângelo Ramalho, CEO of Efacec, “This project is strategically relevant given the current global context, in which the transition to more sustainable energy sources is increasingly urgent and a priority. Efacec’s involvement in a project of this magnitude, in an industrial context and in the green hydrogen segment, is something to be very proud of, positioning the company as a player of excellence in the development of vital solutions for a more sustainable future.”.
